SEAL BEACH City Council members have unanimously approved displaying the national motto, “In God We Trust” in the council chambers.
The council is expected to consider design and cost options at a later meeting. City officials said the cost could range from $350 to $3,500.

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 28th, 2009. Annual Seal Beach Police Association Polar Plunge to Benefit Special Olympics Southern California. The Seal Beach Police Department has long been a fundraising partner with Special Olympics Southern California . This is annual Plunge and we hope to raise $50,000 for Special Olympics athletes! ALL PROCEEDS will be given directly to Special Olympics Southern California. Because of this generous support, Special Olympics Southern California is able to reach out and provide year round training and sports programs for both children and adults with intellectual disabilities throughout Southern California. Brochures can be picked up at the front counter of the Seal Beach Police Department, Seal Beach Pier Police Substation, or at the City of Seal Beach Parks and Recreation Department office.

Officials Wednesday arrested Brian Keith Robinson, nicknamed the “Salt and Pepper” bandit, suspected of robbing or attempting to rob 17 Southern California banks in four weeks, including one in Seal Beach, authorities said.

Don’t be surprised if you get a knock at your door from animal control checking to see if your dogs have an up to date license. As reported in a recent LA Times article, the Long Beach Animal Control Center will be conducting door to door checks in Long Beach, Seal Beach and Signal Hill areas, in an effort to crack down on unclicensed dogs, the . If you’re not home and your dogs are barking expect a return visit. Licence fees cost only $20 per year per altered dog and $90 per year for unaltered dogs. You will be required to show proof of rabies vaccination at time of registration as well.
Not only does the licensing help fund animal control services but also helps to ensure the safe return of your animal should it be lost. For more information on licensing your pet visit the LBACC website.
