Security Guard Injured in Seal Beach Shoplifting Scuffle

Three youths attempting to steal a bundle of shoes at a Kohl’s department store escaped with a pair of $50 sneakersafter a violent scuffle with security guards, Seal Beach police said Monday.   When confronted for shoplifting the three suspects violently resisted and fled with just one pair of shoes in a green SUV northbound on Seal Beach Blvd.   Read the full story  in the Press Telegram.

California Conservationists Weigh In on Obama’s Energy Plan

In a recent MSNBC story California conservationsist weighed in our their thoughts about Obama’s goal of doubling the country’s alternative energy in just three years .  This plan could have a big effect in California.  Is it possible or just another impossible idea?  A top expert at the Sacramento Municipal Utility District, a leader in renewable energy and conservation, said he thinks it is.   To read more about this story click here.

Tall, dark and handsome, Tazer is our big beautiful purebred German Shepherd. He’s our black beauty of the dogs here in the shelter. He can do doggie sit ups for ever (if you have a treat)! That is by a hand signal “up, down, up, down” too cute. He is doing well with his walks learning to heal. He is such an intelligent dog and so eager to please. He just needs a loving home and to put on some weight. Shepherd don’t like being in a pen, it’s too confining for them. Taser is used to being the pack leader and so needs a dog-savvy home.
