Emerald
Emerald was abandoned by her family, which left her very upset and confused. It has taken a long time for her to start to get over it, but she is starting to make a lot of progress. We can now pet her and she even purrs a little. We know there is a sweetie deep inside anxious to get out. We would love to find Emerald a new home quickly so she can escape her cocoon and learn to love completely.

Don’t be surprised if you get a knock at your door from animal control checking to see if your dogs have an up to date license. As reported in a recent LA Times article, the Long Beach Animal Control Center will be conducting door to door checks in Long Beach, Seal Beach and Signal Hill areas, in an effort to crack down on unclicensed dogs, the . If you’re not home and your dogs are barking expect a return visit. Licence fees cost only $20 per year per altered dog and $90 per year for unaltered dogs. You will be required to show proof of rabies vaccination at time of registration as well.
Not only does the licensing help fund animal control services but also helps to ensure the safe return of your animal should it be lost. For more information on licensing your pet visit the LBACC website.

Winter the Cat
Winter is a handsome affectionate cutie pie. He arrived with a much older woman, Autumn, who he is very attached to. They take care of one another and get upset if they are apart for too long. Both of them have wonderful personalities and they make a great couple.
Winter is completely deaf, but it doesn’t seem to be a problem at all.
We really want to keep these kitties together, do you have room for two?
