Long Beach Playhouse, 5021 E. Anaheim Street, Long Beach / Newton Fuller has always dreamt of having “a little place in the country to call his own”. Newton’s dreams come true when he purchases a dilapidated farmhouse, where, according to legend, George Washington stayed the night. When a city-dweller prepares to make such a move, complications ensue and Newton is no exception. A classic farce, George Washington Slept Here will leave audiences asking for more. International City Theatre at The Long Beach Performing Arts Center / With music by Kurt Weill and book & lyrics by Bertolt Brecht, The Threepenny Opera takes audiences on a spellbinding tour through the seedy underworld of Victorian London. 3/23/09 – 3/28/09 Congressonal Cup 2009 Belmont Pier Spectator Area, Long Beach
–Hosted by the Long Beach Yacht Club, the Congressional Cup is one of the oldest and most prestigious Match Racing Events in the world, and this year it is the only grade 1 match race regatta that will be sailed in the United States.
