Well it might cost more than that unless you’re already a resident of Sunset Beach.
The county told the Sunset folks to join Huntington Beach or Seal Beach. The county can no longer afford the services that Sunset needs. Huntington Beach said OK but Sunset said “No Thanks” and then approached Seal Beach.
Seal Beach said “No Thanks” and the county, more or less, said find your self a partner or we will annex you to Huntington. Sunset Beach said give us some time and we’ll become a city on our own.
Well that’s what Sunset is going to do. Try to become a city on their own. They like their laid back lifestyle, their tiny post office, (no mail delivery in Sunset) and they are prepared to handle any forthcoming tsunamis by themselves. It may cost each household approximately $500 just for the application process of city-hood.
